As a parent of a 7th grader and veteran teacher, I live by the phrase, " If it is not good enough for my child, it is not good enough for any child!" As a board member, I will strive to advocate for your children to help ensure that they have the necessary resources to develop and expand their academic potential and success. I know the FLAGS program has high goals for student achievement, and I am proud to support the efforts to reach these goals. I hope to ensure the school's good work continues in my capacity as Co-chair. As well, I am happy to have the chance to work with many parents I've met toward helping our school. I believe that our kids and our community benefit when we all pitch in, and it makes it more fun for all of us. As a board member, I personally will not make any difference, but with your involvement, we will. I am excited to assist in the advancement and development of the FLAGS program and look forward to working with all of you to make this a wonderful school year for our children.
Frank Mestas, Treasurer
I have an 8th grade daughter in the FLAGS program. As a family we are extremely excited about being part of such a wonderful program. As a parent I wanted to offer my time to the program in whatever capacity I could. As luck would have it, a board seat was open for Treasurer. I am an accountant by profession, so I thought that would be a natural fit. As I have come to learn, my professional experience lends itself to the seat, but by no means is necessary. The Board is made up of everyday parents like you that have a desire to be involved. We are here to support the FLAGS program and more importantly the children that are enrolled. I would encourage you to volunteer your time to this program, even if only for a few hours. The rewards far exceed the effort!
